Marija Antunović began her musical education in her native Serbia. There she finished primary and secondary music school in the accordion class of Prof. Dragan Mirković.

Since 2016, she has been living and studying in Vienna at Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna in the class of Univ.-Prof. Grzegorz Stopa. She completed her bachelor’s degree in music performance with distinction and is currently studying for a master’s degree.

During her studies, she actively participated in masterclasses with some of the most renowned professors such as: Iñaki Alberdi, Janne Rättyä, Na Song, etc.

As a soloist or as a member of an ensemble, on her professional path she won many awards at national and international competitions. She also played with orchestras and ensembles and participated in renowned festivals such as Wien Modern, etc. Most recently, as part of Wien Modern 2022, she played world premiere of “Ceremony II” composed by Georg Friedrich Haas at Kunsthistorisches Musem Wien. She ist academist of Jeunesse-Oorkaan Academy for the 2023/24 season.

Her repertoire is diverse - from early early music, through baroque, classicism and romanticism, to contemporary music. She strives to understand and go beyond the limits of the accordion's possibilities and is dedicated to constantly improving herself and the possibilities of the instrument, as well as expanding her repertoire, and is very happy to collaborate with composers and other musicians.
